Today, we are honored to have Sharon Pitluk Silver as our guest speaker. Sharon is an active member of the Speakers’ Bureau of the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, and she has been a featured speaker for numerous outreach events. Sharon and her husband live in Glenview, and before that they lived in Deerfield. Together, they have 3 grown children, and 5 grandchildren. Sharon teaches kids preparing for their mitzvah service. Sharon was born during the Holocaust – in Poland in November 1941 – more than two years after the Nazis invaded Poland, and just one month before the United States entered WWII. Sharon may be the youngest Holocaust survivor you will ever meet. For the next half hour Sharon will tell us her story, followed by about 10 minutes for you to ask her questions.
